config Tools and Resources

Full disclosure: Please note that some of the links below are affiliate links, and at no additional cost to you, I will earn a commission if you decide to make a purchase. I have had experience with all of these products and I recommend them not because of any money I may make from them but because I love them and believe that others will find them useful. I don’t want to you spend any money on these if they will not be the perfect fit your you.

WordPress: This is the best blogging platform out there. It is free, easy to use for those who are new to blogging, but flexible enough to grow with you as your needs change and you learn new things. All my websites use wordpress.
ThemeForest: There are many places to get premium themes, but I now prefer to look at Theme Forest. The themes there are reasonably priced, and I find they have so many more great features compared to other premium theme sites out there.

Domain Names and Hosting

Blue Host: I have been using Blue Host for over five years, and I love them. Great hosting at a great price.
Namecheap: I use Name Cheap for my domain names. No crazy up-sells.

Email Subscriptions

Aweber: This is the email list/autoresponder service that I use to send out my newsletter. I’ve tried others, this one is no. 1.
Instabuilder: Create landing and squeeze pages within your website. This is a wordpress plugin.
OptinSkin: This creates a really pretty optin box for your website. One great feature of this plugin is the ability to have it appear after an amount of time that you specify.

Clicky: Clicky is free to use, with a paid plan if you want more. I find Clicky so much easier to use and get something out of the analytics compared to Google Analytics.
Google Analytics: This is the industry standard for analytics.

Email & Productivity

Yesaware: I love yesaware! This is a way to track your email opens, clicks and replies, as well as you can speed up your emails with templates. I review Yesaware here.
Evernote: I use Evernote to record everything! I have a post on how I use Evernote in my business.
Trello: This is my to-do list. Here is my video on how I use Trello in my workflow:
